SO BY POPULAR(ish) DEMAND I am doing a series called SHERLOCKSWHATAREYOUDOING comparing the sketchy fashion choices of Benedict Cumberbatch and Robert Downey Jr. (and also jonny lee miller if anyone submits pictures of him wearing hideous things.)
FOR OUR FIRST EDITION OF SHERLOCKSWHATAREYOUDOING, I present: THE BEACH.
first up is british heartthrob BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH!!
now overall this is really an incredibly lovely picture because BENEDICT but I have to question your taste in shorts. I mean the color scheme is quite nice and very eye-catching (although do you really need to try to catch anyone’s eyes you are benedict cumberbatch) but if I were you I would be wearing swim trunks like these ones.
no, my main quibbles with these trunks are:
- THEY ARE FAR TOO SMALL LOOK AT THEM. benedict sometime in the past recently you have become approximately the size of an aircraft carrier and those shorts were not made to contain you at this size. I know this for a fact because
- YOU HAVE HAD THEM FOR YEEEEEARS. literal several years. since 2008 at least. THAT IS A RIDICULOUSLY LONG TIME BENEDICT. I am not an A-list celebrity and even I don’t own a swimming suit from 2008.
NEXT UP IS american silver fox ROBERT DOWNEY JR!!!!!
Oh dear heavens. WHERE DO I START.
ROBERT. that pattern looks like it would be more at home on a hideous hotel comforter than adorning your body. what even is it. palm trees? can you get more cliched than palm tree swimming trunks? there are TWO DIFFERENT SHADES OF TURQUOISE ROBERT and that green is legitimately hideous.
and the HAT. OH MY GOODNESS THE HAT. it is light purple. nothing else you are wearing even remotely approaches light purple.
I am willfully restraining myself from commenting on your bag robert because I bet it serves a practical purpose of some kind. but I am still side-eyeing the fuck out of it.
THE VERDICT: Robert is dressed worse. The hotel comforter pattern is just all the no.
